Williston Park, NY

Having a white smile inspires confidence, not only in the person smiling, but in those around them. Not everyone is blessed with having bright, white teeth. Some of us need to have our teeth whitened to get that beautiful and natural look. If you have been looking to get teeth whitening, give Long Island Smiles a call!

Why You May Want Your Teeth Whitened

What tooth whitening in williston Park at Long Island Smiles can do for you!
On top of a confidence boost, having bright white teeth can also be desired for other reasons, including:

Some people have their lifestyle and diets to blame for darker teeth. It could be that you happen to drink too much tea or coffee, or maybe you enjoy the occasional glass of red wine. Some people smoke, and that is largely responsible for stained teeth.

How Does Tooth Whitening Work?

When you come in to our offices to get your teeth whitened, expect two visits. During the first visit, we will explain the entire procedure to you, and we will create a mold of your mouth. That mold will be used to create trays that are totally custom to your teeth. During the second visit, we will take those trays and ensure they fit perfectly, making any small adjustments that are necessary for comfort. We will then walk you through the process of using the gel in the trays and when you should wear them.

You should wear the trays overnight whenever possible, or at least two times each day for 30 minutes each time.

This will be ongoing for a couple weeks, but your dentist will tell you how long to realistically expect, depending on how stained your teeth currently are, and how light you want them to get. While you are going through the whitening process, it is very common for your teeth to be sensitive, but this should subside within a couple of days of stopping the process.

After you are done whitening your teeth, you are going to need to carefully take very good care of your teeth. You need to brush them after each meal, floss at least once per day, and make sure you make each visit with your dentist every six months.

If you have been thinking about getting your teeth whitened, or are curious about the differences between teeth whitening and teeth bleaching, give Long Island Smiles a call today. We will set up an appointment to see the dentist, and find out what type of insurance you have. That way, when you come in, you know what should be covered, and what type of payment you can expect to make the day services are rendered. If you want to get that bright smile that shows the world you are capable and proud, then visit your local dentist to get the process started. Your smile will be grateful you did!
